Capybaras are the largest rodents on earth and are found in North & Central America in both rainforests & savannahs. They are closely related to guinea pigs, and more distantly to chinchillas & agouti. Capybaras have pig-shaped bodies & partially webbed toes, great for paddling around in water. They are really strong swimmers and their long, brittle fur dries out quickly on land.
Like other rodents, their teeth grow continuously and they wear them down by grazing. Interestingly they start their day by eating their own faeces in the morning! This allows them to digest their meals twice as the grass they eat is very difficult to digest. They live in large groups, but are also happy to be alone.
Every purchase of this super-soft sustainable hoodie supports rainforest wildlife.
